Afro-disiac... Real or Fake?
The word aphrodisiac comes from Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of sexuality and love.
Substances or foods said to boost your libido are called aphrodisiacs.
A males Libido is linked to his levels of sexual hormones, mainly testosterone.
A low sex drive = Low testosterone, (post-menopausal women or men over age 60), testosterone supplements will often increase libido, such as Ginseng, Yohimbe, Tribulus terrestris, and horny goat weed to name a few.
History has proven that the said supplements’ do their job in heightening the libido when preparing for sexual activity;
but what about the different foods said to give you that added humph during intercourse?
Throughout history, many foods, drinks, and behaviors have had a reputation for making sex more attainable and/or pleasurable. However, from a historical and scientific standpoint, the alleged results may have been mainly due to mere belief by their users that they would be effective (i.e., the placebo effect). Personally I don’t know about any “placebo effect” but every time I eat shellfish mainly a fresh batch of conch salad I get the urge for sexual power serge!
